JOIN THE 'TRUCK FRIENDLY' STICKER PROGRAM

Ken believes that when coming up behind a vehicle on the road, including a caravanner or RV driver you never know what you will get.

“Life is like a box of chocolates.”

Drivers may be informed, courteous, cooperative, uneducated, or they may be just plain ignorant.

For example: - We have all heard of and seen many drivers of all vehicles complain when vehicles speed up on overtaking lanes or follow too closely to the vehicle in front so you cannot overtake.

The free, large 30cm, green ‘I’M TRUCK FRIENDLY’ stickers are available at locations throughout Australia and are designed to go on the rear of the caravan and RV so that following drivers know that the driver in front has read the web site driving guides, and knows how to help other drivers, wants to help other drivers, and they have a UHF radio to communicate. (Turned on)

Only drivers who qualify by having read the web site, wanting to help other drivers, and have a UHF qualify for a free sticker. NO UHF – NO sticker.

There is a list of over 30, free sticker, collection points throughout Australia on the web site below with many being tourist/visitor information centers, caravan dealerships and mechanical workshops throughout Australia.

Smaller 120mm, ‘I SUPPORT THE TRUCK FRIENDLY PROGRAM’ stickers are also available for cars, trucks, offices etc.

Reading the words ‘Truck’ and ‘Friendly’ on a sticker on the back of a truck at the traffic lights or on the highway may help to stimulate thought on the needs of trucks when turning etc.

Truck drivers seeing a supportive sticker, and receiving a friendly call on the UHF offering help, will also go a long way to help stop the negative thought cycle of truck drivers who spend long hours alone behind the wheel.

  • Suicide is the second highest cause of death in truck drivers under 39 years of age.
  • Mr Michael Kaine is National Secretary of the TWU and he also oversees insurance claims made by some 100,000 transport workers to their superannuation fund. "There are between three and six suicide claims every month — a horrific number," he said.
  • A Monash University study found the percentage of drivers aged under 35 suffering severe distress was almost double that of the average Australian male of the same age.
  • Truck drivers are 13 times more likely to die at work than any other Australian worker.

THE ' I'M TRUCK FRIENDLY' STICKERS SHOW THAT YOU ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION AND NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM.
